# Connect HRIS

## 📌 Overview

Quinn allows you to connect your HRIS to automatically sync employee records and organizational structure. This helps keep [members](/help/add-members) and [groups](/help/setting-up-groups) up to date without manual imports.

- Choose the Quinn group you want to map it to.

### Step 6: Review Synced Members and Groups

### Step 7: Employee Account Setup

- They can use the email to set up their account and start training.

### Set Member Locations from an HRIS Group

By default, Quinn reads each employee's work location from your HRIS to set their [location](/help/rule-based-groups) in Quinn. If your HRIS tracks locations as a group or department instead — a "Site", "Branch", or "Region" group, for example — Quinn can use that group as the source for member locations on your connection.

This is configured per HRIS connection by the Quinn team, so contact your Quinn contact to turn it on and tell them which HRIS group holds your locations. Once it's set up, locations come only from that group: employees whose group doesn't match one of your Quinn locations are left without a location rather than falling back to their work location, and only active employees receive one.

## 💡 Tips

- Initial sync may take a few minutes depending on company size.

- Group mappings can be updated at any time as your organization changes.

- HRIS sync helps ensure your training structure always stays aligned with your org chart.

- If your locations live in an HRIS group rather than a work-location field, ask Quinn to point the connection at that group so location-based [rule-based groups](/help/rule-based-groups) stay accurate.
