# How Quinn integrates with Rippling

*Last reviewed September 28, 2026 by the Quinn implementation team*

**Does Quinn integrate with Rippling?** Yes. Quinn supports read-only roster sync from Rippling. New hires are added to Quinn and placed in their training groups, job title and location changes move people to matching groups, and people who leave are deactivated. Quinn courses can also be exported as SCORM or cmi5 packages for compatible course types, and completions can be sent as webhooks.

If your company runs on Rippling, that's where hires, promotions, team changes, and departures get recorded. The worry with adding a training tool is that it becomes one more roster someone has to keep up to date by hand.

Quinn's Rippling integration takes that off your plate. Rippling stays the source of truth for who needs training, and Quinn handles the training itself.

## At a glance

| | What it does | How it works |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Roster sync | Keeps Quinn members and groups in step with Rippling | Read-only connection that syncs daily |
| Course export | Runs Quinn courses inside an LMS that accepts these packages | SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or cmi5 (xAPI) package, for compatible course types |
| Completion transfer | Gets completions and scores into a system of record | Recorded by your LMS for exported courses, or sent as a webhook your team routes |

## Option 1: Sync your Rippling roster into Quinn

### What syncs from Rippling

- **Employees:** name, work email, and mobile phone number, so training links can go out by text with no app to install.
- **Employment details:** job title, employment status, and manager.
- **Groups:** Rippling groups such as departments or teams, which you map to Quinn groups.
- **Locations:** each employee's work location.

### What happens automatically after that

- **New hire in Rippling → added to Quinn.** Active employees are created as learners and placed in their groups. If those groups have onboarding programs, first-week training starts without anyone touching it.
- **Promotion or move → training follows.** When someone's title or location changes in Rippling, they move to the matching Quinn group and its training. Groups you map from Rippling add people as they join the Rippling group.
- **Someone leaves → deactivated in Quinn.** Employees marked inactive in Rippling are deactivated on the next sync. As a safeguard, Quinn pauses automatic offboarding if one sync would remove an unusually large share of your organization.

**Quinn doesn't write back to Rippling.** The roster connection only reads data, so it can't change employee records.

## Option 2: Export Quinn courses to your LMS

From **Share & Export** on any course, Quinn exports a SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or cmi5 (xAPI) package for compatible course types. Upload it to an LMS that accepts those formats, and the LMS records completion, pass or fail, and score. If you want to use Rippling's learning features, check with your Rippling admin whether your setup accepts SCORM or cmi5 packages. See [running Quinn courses inside your LMS](/integrations/scorm) for the details.

## Option 3: Send completions to your system of record

Quinn can send a `course.completed` webhook each time a learner finishes a course. Your HRIS team or integration partner can route that event into a downstream workflow. Webhooks live under Settings → Developer → Webhook Endpoints once your Quinn team turns on developer settings for your account. This is not the same as native, two-way write-back to Rippling.

## How to connect Rippling

1. In Quinn, go to **Settings → Integrations** and click **Connect HRIS**.
2. Under **HRIS Provider**, choose Rippling.
3. Your Rippling admin approves the connection.
4. After the first sync, open **Configure Mappings** and map Rippling groups to Quinn groups. Use **Preview** to check the result before you save.
5. When your members and groups look right, turn on welcome emails and launch.

## Common questions

### Rippling has training too. Why Quinn?

Rippling's learning features can cover assigning and tracking required HR courses. Quinn is for the training that's specific to your business:

- Courses built from your SOPs
- [AI roleplays](/product/roleplay) for customer and sales conversations
- [3D equipment simulations](/training/technical-simulations)
- Training links by text, with no app to install

### What if an employee's info is wrong in Rippling?

Fix it in Rippling, which stays the source of truth. Job title, manager, and location changes come through on the next daily sync.
