# How Quinn integrates with UKG

*Last reviewed September 28, 2026 by the Quinn implementation team*

**Does Quinn integrate with UKG?** Yes. Quinn supports read-only roster synchronization from UKG Pro and UKG Ready, so employee and organizational data keeps Quinn membership and training groups current. Quinn courses can also be exported for use in compatible learning systems. Course compatibility and completion-transfer options depend on the course type and your UKG configuration.

If your company runs on UKG, your employee data already lives there: every hire, termination, job title, manager, and location. The last thing your training team needs is a second system to keep up to date by hand.

Once Quinn is connected, UKG stays the source of truth for who needs training, and Quinn handles the training itself: building courses from your SOPs, sending them to techs' phones, and showing that they learned it. There are three ways to use them together, and many teams combine more than one.

## At a glance

| | What it does | How it works |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Roster sync | Keeps Quinn members and groups in step with UKG Pro or UKG Ready | Read-only connection that syncs daily |
| Course export | Runs Quinn courses inside UKG Pro Learning or another LMS | SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or cmi5 (xAPI) package, for compatible course types |
| Completion transfer | Gets completions and scores into a system of record | Recorded by your LMS for exported courses, or sent as a webhook your team routes |

## Option 1: Sync your UKG roster into Quinn

This is the most common setup. Quinn reads your employee data from UKG and keeps your Quinn members and groups in step with it.

### What syncs from UKG

- **Employees:** name, work email, and mobile phone number, so training links can go out by text with no app to install.
- **Employment details:** job title, employment status, and manager.
- **Groups:** UKG groups such as departments or teams, which you map to Quinn groups.
- **Locations:** each employee's work location.

### What happens automatically after that

- **New hire in UKG → added to Quinn.** Active employees are created as learners and placed in their groups. If those groups have onboarding programs, first-week training starts without anyone touching it. Welcome emails go out too, if you turn them on.
- **Role or location change → training follows.** Quinn can build groups from job title, manager, and work location. When someone's title or location changes in UKG, they move to the matching group and its training. Groups you map from UKG add people as they join the UKG group.
- **Someone leaves → deactivated in Quinn.** Employees marked inactive in UKG are deactivated on the next sync. As a safeguard, Quinn pauses automatic offboarding if one sync would remove an unusually large share of your organization.

**Quinn doesn't write back to UKG.** The roster connection only reads data, so it can't change employee records.

## Option 2: Run Quinn courses inside UKG Pro Learning

Some teams have already invested in UKG Pro Learning, or need every completion recorded there for compliance. That works too. From **Share & Export** on any course, Quinn exports a SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or cmi5 (xAPI) package for compatible course types. Upload it to UKG Pro Learning, or any LMS that accepts those formats, and the LMS records completion, pass or fail, and score. The passing score comes from the course's threshold, which is 80% unless you change it.

There are two kinds of package:

- **Live package (recommended):** A small file that loads the hosted Quinn course. When you publish an update in Quinn, learners in UKG get it without a re-upload. The course title and passing score are set when you export. Choose **Pop-out Experience** to open the course in its own window, where voice and interactive features work normally. **Stay in LMS** plays inside the LMS window, with voice off, and isn't available for courses with scenario or roleplay blocks. cmi5 packages always open as a pop-out.
- **Self-contained package (beta):** Everything, including media and pre-rendered voiceover, is in the file (SCORM 1.2). Use it if your IT team requires fully self-contained content. Roleplays and scenarios become read-only, and live AI features such as voice roleplay and AI chat aren't available offline.

[You own your content](/data-security), and compatible courses can be exported at any time. Live packages depend on continued access to the hosted Quinn course; self-contained packages don't. See [running Quinn courses inside your LMS](/integrations/scorm) for the details.

## Option 3: Send completions to UKG or anywhere else

If you train in Quinn but want completions in UKG or another system of record, Quinn can send a `course.completed` webhook each time a learner finishes a course. Your HRIS team or integration partner can route that event into a downstream workflow. Webhooks live under Settings → Developer → Webhook Endpoints once your Quinn team turns on developer settings for your account.

This is not the same as native, two-way write-back to UKG.

## How to connect UKG

Setup takes a few minutes of clicking. The part that takes longer is getting the right person at your company to authorize it.

1. In Quinn, go to **Settings → Integrations** and click **Connect HRIS**.
2. Under **HRIS Provider**, choose UKG Pro or UKG Ready.
3. Your UKG admin signs in and approves the connection. This is usually someone on the HR or HRIS team, not IT, so loop them in early.
4. Quinn runs the first sync. For large UKG tenants, the first pull can take a while.
5. Open **Configure Mappings** and map UKG groups to Quinn groups (for example, UKG "HVAC Service / Phoenix" → Quinn "Service Techs / Phoenix"). Use **Preview** to check the result before you save.
6. When your members and groups look right, turn on welcome emails and launch.

Your Quinn team can walk through field mapping with your HRIS team on a short call.

## Common questions

### Do we have to stop using UKG Pro Learning?

No. Plenty of teams keep required HR courses (harassment prevention, cybersecurity) in UKG and use Quinn for the job-specific training UKG wasn't built for: equipment, procedures, customer conversations. Or they run Quinn courses inside UKG as SCORM.

### What if an employee's info is wrong in UKG?

Fix it in UKG, which stays the source of truth. Job title, manager, and location changes come through on the next daily sync.

### What if we're mid-migration to UKG?

Invite a pilot group directly in Quinn so training isn't blocked, then connect UKG when it's ready. Quinn matches synced employees to existing members by email, so their training history stays intact.
